Goodbye Asia,
I'll miss the EngRish. I'll miss the spices. Someday I'll look at all my accessories and think I didn't buy enough scarves.
I leave Asia knowing more about the world. I feel more compassion. I value things differently.
Did I find myself? No. I have no clue what I'll do next. But that's OK. I got SIX new caricatures drawn of myself! I got to climb a live volcano in a thunderstorm! I got my hair mistakenly dyed red! I LIVED.
My favorite times were spent with new friends. I miss Pen, Pong, Laura, Beno, May, Angelika, Wayan, Maria, Lauris, Kristine, Gregor, Aisha, Kadek, Thao, Thuy, Han and Loi. I can't wait to see you all again.
I'm writing this from home, in the good old US of A. It's so quiet here. Everything is expensive. The bugs are tiny. The people seem artificially polite. It's immeasurably safer.
Thank you to all my readers who skimmed through my diary. I hope herroasia is used as a resource for future travelers and a reference for my obituary.
Please enjoy the following pictures, I think they sum up the trip nicely:
...until next trip!
